Botox/Xeomin
Botox/Xeomin treatments can be used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines
Service Description
Botox and Xeomin are called neurotoxins and they are given in the form of an injection. The neurotoxin is placed into the muscle or just under the skin to temporarily improve the appearance of fine lines, soften deep movements, and to smooth out dynamic wrinkles. Common Areas to Reduce Lines and Wrinkles: •Frontalis (forehead) and Glabellar (the 11’s) •Glabellar (the 11’s) only •Crow’s feet (corner of the eye) •Lip Flip (lifts the lip) •Radial lip lines (kiss lines or smoker’s lines) •Mentalis (cobblestone chin Common Areas to Smooth the Skin and Reduce: Pore Size, Redness, Rosacea, Sweating, and more. •Cheeks and Nose •Hands and Feet •Forehead •Armpits HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE? Everyone is different, and it depends on the size of the treatment area. If it is your first treatment you should set aside at least 45-50 minutes. This will give us time to do your consultation and talk about your treatment options and treatment goals. If we have treated you before, then your visit can take 15-30 minutes. Results can be seen as early as 3 days, but it takes about 14 days to see the final results. Adjustments will not be done prior to the 14 days. HOW LONG DOES IT LAST? Everyone is different and our bodies metabolize the product at different rates. For most people the treatment can last about 4 months (3-4 treatments a year). The lower face burns off a little faster because we use those muscles more often, so those treatments last about 2 months. Athletes, people that work out a lot, and people that are always in the sun will metabolize (burn off) the product faster than others. Their treatments usually last about 2-3 months. AVOID COMPLICATIONS: •If you have a history of cold sores - take Acyclovir 2 days prior to treatment to prevent a breakout. •At least 2 days before treatment - avoid drinking alcohol as it increases bleeding and bruising. •At least 2 days before treatment - avoid medications/supplements such as Naproxen, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, St Johns Wart, and Gingko Biloba as they increase bleeding. TREATMENT SHOULD BE AVOIDED IF: •You are pregnant or you are breastfeeding. •You have allergies to botulinum toxin, human albumin, or sucrose. •You have a current infection, swelling, or dermatitis in the areas being injected. •You have a neurologic condition such as Bell’s Palsy, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gherig’s Disease), Myasthenia Gravis, Lambert Eaton Disorder, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease.
