Every treatment is different, and it depends on the size of the treatment area. If it is your first treatment you should set aside at least 45 minutes. This will give us time to do your consultation and talk about your treatment options and treatment goals. If we have treated you before, then your visit can take 15-30 minutes. Results can be seen as early as 3 days, but for most people it takes about 10-14 days. You MUST wait 2 full weeks to see the final result. HOW LONG DOES IT LAST? Everyone is different and our bodies metabolize the product at different rates. For most people the treatment can last about 4 months (3-4 treatments a year). The lower face burns off a little faster because we use those muscles more often, so those treatments last about 2 months. Athletes, people that work out a lot, or people that are always in the sun will metabolize (burn off) the product faster than others, so their treatments usually last about 2-3 months. AVOID COMPLICATIONS: •If you have a history of cold sores, you should take medications 2 days prior to treatment to prevent a breakout. •Alcoholic beverages may increase bleeding and bruising. •Blood thinning medications such as Naproxen, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, St Johns Wart, and Gingko Biloba may increase bleeding and bruising. TREATMENT SHOULD BE AVOIDED IF: •You are pregnant or you are breastfeeding. •You have allergies to botulinum toxin, human albumin, or sucrose. •You have a current infection, swelling, or dermatitis in the areas being injected. •You have a neurologic condition such as Bell’s Palsy, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gherig’s Disease), Myasthenia Gravis, Lambert Eaton Disorder, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease.
